EUIPO Academic Research Visits: Call for Interest

Dear NIPA Members,

As previously discussed during the NIPA Annual Meeting in December 2022, we are excited to announce the launch of the new edition of the EUIPO Research Visits!

Through this initiative, the Office seeks to facilitate and strengthen knowledge sharing and further research, together with the academic community, on various topics related to intellectual property and foster a dynamic and accessible IP Research hub.

The EUIPO Research Visits are open to professors, lecturers, PhD candidates or NIPA Members’ staff. Research visitors can access our premises and the EUIPO Library/Knowledge Hub to supplement their ongoing research projects.

The EUIPO Library, in addition to intellectual property, contains numerous resources and materials related to neighbouring topics, such as innovation, new technologies, and entrepreneurship, to list a few. As a research visitor, you will have free access to all online and physical material that the EUIPO Library offers.

If that is not enough and you need access to a specific resource or material which is not yet available at the EUIPO Library, you can file a request for acquisition prior to your arrival.

Please find attached the Application Form and the Research Visits Brochure.

When filling in the application, please remember to indicate:

·        The exact dates of the Research Visit;

·        Which EUIPO Department you would like to consult (applicable only for Long Term Visits); and

·        Any specific material you would like the EUIPO Library to acquire for your research.

We look forward to receiving your applications and further cooperating on enhancing IP research.
