We are delighted to inform you that on 16 September the European Patent Office welcomed 102 new Young Professionals from 53 PES member universities. Our new cohort gathers talented graduates of 21 different nationalities, and we are immensely proud to have them join us for the coming year.

This includes 102 new recruits from the latest selection, who are in their first year, 57 participants from the 2023/2024 edition now in their second year, and 45 individuals continuing into their third year of the programme.

First information on the 2025/2026 edition of the Young Professional Programme is planned for November 2024 to offer you and your students first insights already during the running semester.

Please accept our thanks for your partnership and personal engagement in the Young Professional Programme under the Pan-European Seal co-operation framework.

Our shared mission to support future IP professionals is of paramount importance to us, and we are confident that our combined efforts will help raise awareness about IP in Europe and enable a growing number of young Europeans to gain invaluable on-the-job experience at the EPO.

IP EDUCATION OFFER FOR YOUR STUDENTS

As well, we would like to take the opportunity to keep you up to date with our offer on IP education that is available to you already:

Last year, we launched the Modular IP Education Framework. Through its high-quality course “Create – Protect – Innovate: Bringing ideas to market”, MIPEF offers to the universities of the PES network a great opportunity to integrate a digital IP education offering into their curriculum, in a sustainable and systematic way being free of charge.

It is with great pleasure that today we can announce to you that 35 universities have joined the MIPEF and are offering the course to Master and PhD students across 17 EPC contracting states across Europe. If you have interest in joining in the future the MIPEF we invite you to visit the MIPEF webpage within the EPO website. It showcases plenty of useful materials, and it will be also a basis for future news sharing. We invite you to take a look and possibly to share it with your colleagues, and come back to us with any feedback and suggestion you may have. Please drop us an email at mipef@epo.org!
